About our

Modern Learning Spaces

Our purpose-built facilities feature contemporary classrooms, innovative learning hubs, outdoor education areas, and technology-rich environments designed to support the learning and development of our students.

Passionate Educators

Our teaching team brings expertise, creativity, and a genuine love for education. They are committed to providing an excellent education for every student and are dedicated professionals who continually work on growing their own skills.

Strong Community Focus

We believe education is a shared responsibility between school, families, and the broader community. We are excited to work with our community to create new traditions, celebrate achievements and establish a thriving school within our community.

Values-Based Education

Beyond academic excellence, we are dedicated to nurturing well-rounded individuals through our school-wide values program which focuses on the values of Respect, Achievement, Inclusion, Support and Excellence (RAISE). Through our values program, we are committed to developing a great school community that helps every child on their learning journey.

The opening of Muyan Primary School represents new beginnings, fresh opportunities and the chance to be part of something truly special. Together, we will create an educational experience that celebrates each child’s journey and builds the foundations for their lifelong success.

I look forward to working with you as we begin this incredible adventure of establishing and growing our school community.

Welcome to Muyan Primary School.

Our beautiful school logo was designed for Muyan PS by Nakia Cadd, a Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Bunitj, Boon Wurrung, Taungurung woman who grew up in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.

‘Muyan’, meaning Silver Wattle in the Woi Wurrung language of the Wurundjeri people, reflects the school’s name and connection to the land it resides on. The logo pays homage to Wurundjeri Elders, past and present.

Purple is the primary colour, which symbolizes kindness and compassion. These are vital characteristics in fostering a safe and inclusive school community.
The ‘U’ in the logo represents people: community, staff, students, and their families. Each individual bears responsibility for shaping the school community, its values, and environment.
Wattle blooms in July and August. This season is characterized by increased animal activity and enhanced flora.

With Muyan Primary School newly established, it embodies the perfect symbol of the school’s aspiration to grow and thrive. (Written by Artist Nakia Cadd)

School Councils play a vital role in Victorian government schools by providing a formal avenue for parent and community participation in school governance. Our School Council will work collaboratively with our school’s leadership to set strategic direction, approve budgets, develop policies and build our educational community.

School Councils typically include elected parent representatives, staff members and community members who bring valuable perspectives to decision-making processes. Muyan Primary School will be reaching an exciting milestone by electing its first School Council in Term 1, 2026, marking an important step in establishing stronger community engagement and shared responsibility for the school’s future development and success. If you are interested in nominating for our School Council, please keep an eye out for a communication in Term 1, 2026 which will explain the election process.
